Monday Montage Blog Hop – Week 84

Hello friends! Welcome back to the Monday Montage Blog Hop! You may have gotten here from the amazing Bree Renwick’s blog, make sure you select the “next” button below and that will take you to the next stop on the hop, the wonderful Dani Dziama’s blog.  We have some fun holiday treats for you today!

AAA hosted another fantastic “Cards for the Troops” event at work last week.  We made nearly 90 cards and employees put sweet messages inside each card.  We will be distributing them at a local Veteran’s Home this holiday season.

We used the Cookie Cutter Christmas set and coordinating punch.  It made creating 90 cards easy peasy and the card is so cute!

The base is Whisper White accented with a Real Red strip and a little peek of Candy Cane Christmas DSP.   The reindeer image is stamped on Crumb Cake in Early Espresso and punched out.  His nose is blinged out with a Red Glimmer paper circle!  Cute accents include Emerald Envy Metallic Thread, Rhinestones, a circle cut with the Stitched Shapes die, and a circle embossed with the Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The card is fast and easy to assemble but packs a nice creative punch using these fun tools and embellishments.

Monday Montage Blog Hop – Week 75

Hello friends! Welcome back to the Monday Montage Blog Hop! You may have gotten here from the amazing Bree Renwick’s blog, make sure you select the “next” button below and that will take you to the next stop on the hop, the wonderful Dani Dziama’s blog.  As always, we have some amazeballs inspiration to share today 🙂

This is a set I had to have as soon as I saw the new catalog!  I am a total sucker for anything involving a globe and the sentiments and the fonts are so fantastic!  I just lurve 🙂  This set is great for graduation, a Bon Voyage, a new home or camper…..it lends itself to several fun occasions.

I’m sharing two cards that are similar yet different using the set.  The first features the globe image white embossed on watercolor paper and then water colored in Emerald Envy and Dapper Denim.  One of the splatters from Gorgeous Grunge is gold embossed on the Dapper Denim card front.  The globe stand is stamped in Archival Black on the card front.  The sentiment is gold embossed on vellum and stapled to the globe (my typo said “blob” lol!).  The last step is adding the gold thread under the globe, random rhinestones and enamel dots.

Places You'll Go Stampin' Up

We made the second version in my stamp club a few weeks ago.  This is a little simpler version of the same card recipe.  First up,  the globe image is stamped in archival black on Dappper Denim scrap and cut out.  The card front for this one is Whisper White, the Gorgeous Grunge splatter is stamped across the front in Dapper Denim ink.  Again, the globe stand is stamped in Archival Black.  One of the other sentiments in the set is gold embossed on vellum and stapled to the globe.  The heart is punched out with the Confetti Hearts Border Punch in Real Red, it adds a nice pop of color to the card.

Monday Montage Blog Hop – Week 74

Hello friends! Welcome back to the Monday Montage Blog Hop! You may have gotten here from the amazing Bree Renwick’s blog, make sure you select the “next” button below and that will take you to the next stop on the hop, the wonderful Dani Dziama’s blog.  As always, awesome projects will be shared today!

I just love everything about the “In This World” stamp set.  I love all the detail, the delicate images and sketchy feel.  This is another set I have been super excited to play with and finally had the chance to ink up!

Okay…looking back at my posts I almost always say “this card is easy peasy”….uhhhhh not saying that today lol!  This card has quite a few steps and parts but it’s actually a little easier than it appears and soooo worth the extra effort 🙂

The card front is on watercolor paper.  The first stamped image is the door in Archival Black, next step:  watercoloring in Early Espresso and Soft Suede.  The funky (I love this image sooooooo, soooo much!) gear, blueprint image is heat embossed randomly in White EP next.  It is drop in watercolored in Calypso Coral and Marina Mist.  Another fantastic effect are the splatters.  any splatter image will do, I think I used the one in Painter’s Palette.  Its stamped in Early Espresso first before the watercolor ink is dropped in, then again after the watercoloring is dry.  This technique gives you some images that are washed out and some images that are crisp.  The overall effect?  Delish!

The butterfly image is stamped in archival ink twice:  once on the card front in the location you want it to be and then a second time on watercolor paper scrap.  The second image is watercolored in Calypso Coral, Marina Mist and Island Indigo.  The butterfly is much more saturated in color to make it pop from the card.  Next, it is cut out and popped up on dimensionals with gold thread swirled underneath.  The last little details are the sweet, tiny banner at the top and the pearls scattered across the card front.

Cards for the Troops!

In celebration of the 4th of July, the Military Employee Resource Group at work sponsored an event where we made 85 thank you cards to send to active duty service men and women.  I designed a patriotic card that would be easy enough for non-stampers to make.  I found this stamp from a few years ago that was perfect for this project!  Everyone had so much fun stamping….some stampers went through the line a couple of times 🙂

Thank you AAA for sponsoring this!

Super simple card with easy stamping.  We used the banner punch to punch the underlying red banner and the medium star punch to punch the larger star.  We used the small retired star punch to make the little stars.  We stamped the small stars in Real Red randomly on the Whisper White base.  Dapper Denim is the perfect blue for this project!  Love, love, love!!!  The card pops together quickly once the parts are made.  We did them assembly line style with lots of direction at each station along the way 🙂

This beautiful set has been calling to me since it came in the lovely brown UPS box!  As soon as I saw this set, I saw this card in my mind and knew I just had to make it happen!  The bridge is stamped in Archival Black ink and the sun ray image is stamped over it in Versamark and embossed in clear embossing powder.  The sunrise is watercolored in Watermelon Wonder, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, Perfect Plum and Dapper Denim.  The sentiment is stamped in Peekaboo Peach and punched out with a 1 1/2″ circle punch.  A few added touches:  Wink of Stella added to the sun rays, the adorbs little birdie, gold thread and the banner punched with the Duet Banner Punch.

Ohhhh how I love playing with new crafty goodness 🙂  The new cattie is out and although I have not been able to spend as much time crafting the last couple of weeks as I would have liked, I have gotten a few sweet moments to make some cute things.  2016 has been the year of health problems for me and I am just hoping that I have turned a corner now and everything is on an upswing!

Today’s card features another new fave stamp set “Pop of Paradise” …. I’m talking serious cuteness factor!  I can’t get enough of the adorbs Flamingo.  This card flew together really quickly…tee hee!  (do flamingos actually fly??!)  I gold embossed Ms. Flamingo and fussy cut her and the rest of the card is easy layering of the other elements.

On our last hop I wrote that the Sunburst Thinlit was retiring…uhhhh bad info on my part!  It’s in the new cattie, yay!!  This sweet set is going away though and it has been one of my faves.

This card features nearly the entire Going Places product suite from the soon to be retired Occasions Catalog.  A piece of Sahara Sand is stamped with an image from Timeless Textures and then embossed with the World Traveler TIEF.  The globe from Going Global is gold embossed on Sahara Sand and cut out with a Circle Thinlit.  The sentiment is gold embossed on Very Vanilla and punched out with the Washi Label Punch.  A 1/4″ piece of Going Places Designer Series Paper is cut into a banner shape.  All pieces are adhered to the card front as shown in the pic, with gold thread, a doily and rhinestones adding additional interest.

Monday Montage Blog Hop – Week 68

Hello friends! Welcome back to the Monday Montage Blog Hop! You may have gotten here from the amazing Bree Renwick’s blog, make sure you select the “next” button below and that will take you to the next stop on the hop, the wonderful Dani Dziama’s blog.  I am sure we all have something special to share today!

I have another easy, peasy but packs a wow project for you today!  It’s that time of year when we say goodby to some favorite products to make way for new goodies…I will be sad to see the cute Sunburst Thinlits Die go bye-bye but I am going to use it lot’s before it does!  And of course I am looking forward to new, fun toys!

This card features Whisper White and Daffodil Delight cut out with the Starburst die.  It is easy to offset your images, just line up your paper for each piece about 1/2″ different from each other.  Then you get the shadowing effect from the two layers of cardstock sunbursts.  The sunbursts are attached to each other with dimensionals.  The sentiment is from the Sunburst Sayings Stamp Set that comes in the bundle with the die.  It is stamped on a 1/2″ Whisper White banner in Daffodil Delight (the “To You” doesn’t fit).  It is stamped again on a Whisper White scrap in Archival Black and then punched out with the 1 3/4″ circle punch.  The star is die cut with a small Star Framelit out of Silver Foil paper.  All the pieces are stacked onto a Whisper White base with Silver Thread, Rhinestones and Enamel Dots for bling.

It’s been snowing for 3 days straight here in Colorado…I know, crazy huh?  It’s May!!!  But that’s springtime in the Rockies, gotta love it!  I needed a little sunburst in my life, I keep thinking if all I think about is spring, it will actually come 🙂

OnStage 2016! Some pretties from SLC!

Monday Montage Blog Hop – Week 67

Hello friends! Welcome back to the Monday Montage Blog Hop! You may have gotten here from the amazing Bree Renwick’s blog, make sure you select the “next” button below and that will take you to the next stop on the hop, the wonderful Dani Dziama’s blog.  I am sure we all have something special to share today!

I just got home from OnStage 2016 in Salt Lake City!  It was soooo much fun!  Lot’s of fantastic inspiration and all my creative cells are on fire and ready to make some pretty things 🙂  It was a great week with friends too, laughing and just enjoying time together.

I didn’t make any swaps this year, I just brought a few cards for downline sisters and friends.  I didn’t have a lot of time before my trip to put anything together so I made this simple project the night before I left for Salt Lake.  It is so simple yet sweet and elegant.  The gold embossed image makes it classy yet easy to put together.

The card features the swirly image gold embossed on the Whisper White card stock base.  “Hello” is die cut from Soft Sky card stock and the hashtag is die cut from Island Indigo.  They are connected with a staple.  Silver thread is swirled behind the die cut images and attached to the card front with glue dots.  The final touch are the rhinestones for extra bling 🙂

My second project is a cute gift bag I made for my BFF and roomie in SLC.  I had a little gift for her and I needed something quick and easy to put it in.  No stamping necessary, I just made a cute little topper to add to the top of a glassine bag.

This project features about 3/4 of a Tea Lace Doilie and a small gold Metallic Foil Doilie stacked on top of each other.  Two small banners are punched out of Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper and Pool Party.  A piece of Mint Macaron Dotted Lace Trim is folded accordian style under the mini banners.  These are all stapled in a stack to the doilies.  A bow is tied with doubled Whisper White Baker’s Twine and added.  A Metal Rimmed Pearl is added too.  The whole piece is attached to the top of a Sketched Dots Gift Bag.  This went together in a few short minutes and looks soooo cute and extra special!

Enjoy the Little Things in 2016!

2016???  Seriously!  The past year just seemed to fly by and now 2016 is here!  I just know this is going to be a fantastic year, I am committed to making it the best year ever 🙂

My last entry into the TGIF Challenge was picked as a favorite again!  Sooo exciting!  I have to play along again this week and I must say I am so excited to take on this week’s glitzy color challenge featuring silver, black and gold….uhhhh, these are faves to play with 🙂

On to this week’s challenge:

TGIF JAN Challenges_2_2-001

I am so in love with this new set in the Occasions Catalog “Enjoy the Little Things”.  I am totes obsessed with the fonts and the sentiments and I wanted to incorporate at least one in my New Year’s card.  Then I thought, hey why not use a bunch of them subway style??  The result is this beauty.

First several of the stamps were set up on one large block in the design and then gold embossed on vellum.  The vellum was added to a Basic Black card base.  Next, gold satin ribbon and banners of gold, black and silver glimmer paper were added along the bottom of the card front.  A vellum banner was added with the year 2016 silver embossed on it.  The final touches were sequins, rhinestones and stars to add glitz and glam….all a fitting welcome to the new year!
