Bestie alert!

I am on a countdown to go on a fabulous cruise with my besties in……2 weeks!!!!  I am super excited, we are going on a Stamping & Scrapbooking cruise with about 100 fun people.  I am just praying every day that the weather gives us a break.  The last couple of weeks have been crazy with these giant hurricanes.  Right now I am listening to a crazy man standing in the street in Naples, Florida who is about to be blown all the way to Tampa lol!  I think these weather guys live for their moment fighting the wind on camera 🙂

As soon as I saw this stamp set in the catalog, I knew I had to have it.  How much time do we spend with our faces in our phones?  This card just reminds me that in person is way better than digital and to make the most of every second I get to spend IRL with my besties 🙂

Creative Tips:

  1.  Use lot’s of the small images to create background stamping.  The small words and emoji’s from the set are stamped tone on tone along the top of the card base.
  2. Use dimensionals to make your card pop.  All of the text blocks on the phone are popped up with dimensionals to create layers.
  3. Most of the card is in Whisper White and Bermuda Bay.  The text bubble responses are in Berry Burst.  This pop of color balances the card out.

Monday Montage Blog Hop – Week 58

Hello friends! Welcome back to the Monday Montage Blog Hop! You may have gotten here from the amazing Bree Renwick’s blog, make sure you select the “next” button below and that will take you to the next stop on the hop, the wonderful Dani Dziama’s blog.  I am sure we all have something special to share today!

I needed a cute card for exercise instructor at work and I had made some cute tags earlier in the week so I kinda made the tag bigger and turned it into this cute card 🙂

This card came together quickly and easily and it features one of the deer images from the Home for Christmas DSP.  Soooo love this paper!  The base is Very Vanilla with a centerpiece built on a piece of Mint Macaron die cut with the Lots of Labels Thinlits set.  Snowflake images from Jolly Christmas were stamped in Mint Macaron on the label.  A bit of doily, a pretty vellum strip, enamel dots and gold thread added lots of glitz to the finished card.  The sentiment is from Oh, What Fun, I love this set so much and have been using the sentiments on nearly every holiday creation this week!

I am heading to Breckenridge in the morning to enjoy a week there with family…we have so much fun playing in the snow and enjoying the season 🙂

Don’t forget the Year End Sale going on now!  Check out my specials page for all of the sale items.  Our December Daily Online Class is available, don’t feel like it is too late to start!  Honestly, I have not actually put one page together yet, that is going to have to happen after the holidays….I’ve just been too busy making memories to record them!  But I have my photos and when I have a few minutes in late December or early January, I will have a wonderful book full of this year’s special moments 🙂  See my class link for more information!

Thanks for letting me share, have a great week filled with inspiration and beauty!

Make sure you go “Back” if you missed Bree Renwick or you can loop on around by hitting the “Next” button to get to Dani Dziama and the rest of the hop!

Party Wishes…

I have a cute and easy project for you today using an upcoming set from the Occasions Catalog:  Party Wishes.  I think I have trouble with super simple lol!  I just didn’t love this card as I was making it, it felt naked or something.  The struggle is real!  I’ve fallen for it now that it’s complete and I’m sharing it with you 🙂

I used the Party Wishes stamp set and the It’s My Party Designer Series Paper Stack.  The solid cake was stamped in Mint Macaron and then cut out.  The sentiment was stamped on a piece of vellum and cut to the same size as my DSP.  I then lined the cake up under the vellum and adhered it to the DSP using dimensionals.   The vellum was stapled on top, slightly offset.  A piece of Melon Mambo was added along with small banners at the top.  A few other touches and voila…a cute birthday card for someone!  Embellishing with staples is a great way to not only secure your card elements but add dimension to it as well.  They have become one of my favorite accessories and you will see them often in my creations.  They are a “must have” item in my book!
