Sale-A-Bration Blitz!

Can you believe Sale-A-Bration is nearly over???

I can’t either and I feel I haven’t made nearly enough fun things with the FREEBIES in the Sale-A-Bration catalog!  Well I am on a roll now and getting the most out of my Sale-A-Bration products!  You have one more day to get a free Sale-A-Bration item with a $50 purchase…this promotion ends at midnight on March 31st!

I have to say that one of the goodies I have loved using the most is the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I just love the way those raised dots look and I think they are perfect with “sea” themed projects.  Here are two fun projects I made using the embossing folder with vellum to give a nice watery look to my cards.

Cathy 014

This card features the Hello, Sailor Stamp Set and the High Tide Designer Series Paper.  I cut the cute “ship in a bottle” image out of the paper and used that as my focal point.  The rest was just super easy layering of a doily, button and baker’s twine, a couple of images from the stamp set and stars punched out of the Silver Foil paper.  How I love the foil paper!  So darn pretty and there are stars in the High Tide DSP so the whole thing comes together nicely!

Cathy 015

My second fishy card features one of my favorite stamp sets that has not seen much ink lately!  I used the fish, the sea fan and the script from By the Tide.  I just love how this card came out!  I gold embossed the fish on Crumb Cake Cardstock and cut them out.  I gold embossed the sea fan on the card front.  I added a few random script images in Soft Suede.  I spritzed the whole thing with Coastal Cabana re-inker mixed with alcohol….yummy!  Then I popped my fish and vellum bubbles on to the card front along with some gold foil circles and rhinestones.  It is just a beautiful card and the pictures don’t really do it justice!  I sure wish you could see it in person 🙂

I sure hope this has inspired you to use not only this embossing folder but your sea themed goodies!  I am feeling beachy these days wishing summer would get here!!  I’ll take spring but so ready for summertime!

Here are some of the fun products I used on these projects, if you click on the picture it takes you to my online store to purchase for yourself!

Hello friends! Welcome back to our Monday Montage Blog Hop! You may have gotten here from the amazing Bree Renwick’s blog, make sure you select the “next” button below and that will take you to the next stop on the hop, the fabulous Dani Dziama’s blog. I have something fun, fresh & springy today & I know my friends have amazing inspiration too!

I have really been enjoying playing with butterflies this week!  I think they make me think about Spring even though can still get  pretty wintery in Colorado in March!  Today I embossed gold butterflies from the Backyard Basics stamp set on White Vellum….so yummy!  I used the matching framelits to cut the images out, easy peasy 🙂  Next I used one of the flower images from the same set and used markers to ink up the flowers, I stamped this image twice onto Whisper White and cut the images out with another framelit from the set.  I attached the flowers to the card base with dimensionals, a little offset from each other.  I added a little Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the flowers, so sparkly!  I also used the Hexagon Hive Thinlit Die and cut that image out of White Vellum.  I layered that on top of the flowers.

Cathy 010

Time to add my beautiful butterflies!  I folded them down the middle, added a rhinestone to each and attached them randomly with glue dots.  The finishing touch was a Clear Vintage button with that cute Coastal Cabana twine from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  I fluffed it all up under the button, this twine has lots of strands and looks so cute all fluffy!  Can you believe it is FREE!!!!  You still have today to get these awesome freebies!

Hello friends! Welcome back to our Monday Montage Blog Hop! You may have gotten here from the amazing Bree Renwick’s blog, make sure you select the “next” button below and that will take you to the next stop on the hop, the fabulous Dani Dziama’s blog. I am soooo excited to share our projects with you today, we are all having so much fun with the new Occasions Mini Catalog!

As I’ve said over and over…..I am in love with gold and all the fun gold embellishments out there these days!  So, true to form my card is full to the brim with gold again this week!

Montage 1-19-14 004

I used Pool Party and Crumb Cake Paper along with Pool Party and Cherry Cobbler Ink.  I just love how the Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Cherry Cobbler work together.  Pretty much everything else is gold, gold and more gold!  I also did some paper piecing, sort of.  I cut one of the chevron patterns out of the I Am Me DSP and cut some over chevrons out of brushed gold.  I also punched some gold chevrons with the chevron punch.  I layered and piled the chevrons and I love the final result.  Stamps sets featured are Gorgeous Grunge and Peachy Keen.  My final gold accents are the gold sequins and embossed gold splats from Gorgeous Grunge.

This week is the launch of the new Occasions Mini product line (for me anyway).  I just love, love, love these new products!  I (as you know) am obsessed with gold lately and there are many new gold products….soooo gorgeous!  I also love the new framelits dies.

Today’s card features the On Film framelits and the Hip Notes stamp set as well as the Retro Fresh Designer Paper.  I am participating in a photo project this year called 365 Days of Gratefulness.  The pic of my puppy helping me craft was my first pic for the year 🙂  I added it as the centerpiece of the card inside the polaroid framelit.  You can’t see the detail on that frame but if you see the little gold camera?  Those framelits not only cut out the image but add lots of adorbs detail!  Yummmmmy!

One more Christmas card for this post!  I finally inked up this cute Christmas Collectibles stamp set.  I’m not sure why I waited so long, especially with the matching punch!  So easy peasy!  Overall this was a fun and simple card, I just can’t get enough of Gold Embossing this season!  I think this card has a nice mix of vintage and modern and lots of gold!  Yum.yum.yum!

This week I am sharing the “Believe” banner that I made for my mantel.  Unfortunately, by the time I tried to photograph it today, it was really too dark to take pics!  But I wanted you to see how pretty it is hanging from the mantel, the rest of the pictures are lit much better and feature the details.  Another disclaimer on all the pics, with all the different pieces it was very hard to get pics with everything in focus!

A Scrabble Tile (1) 009

This banner was soooo easy, peasy!  I just cut the banner shapes out of burlap and then I stenciled the letters on with the stencils in the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit and white acrylic paint.  After that I made bunches of snowflakes with the Festive Flurry stamp set and the Festive Flurry Framelits Dies.  I stamped some with Gold Metallic Encore Ink and some were gold embossed.  I stamped them on Whisper White and Vellum.   A few I just cut with the framelits out of Whisper White and painted with White Frost Shimmer Paint (front the clearance rack).  I also gold embossed the deer silhouette from the Remembering Christmas stamp set.  I had to cut him out by hand but I think the results were totally worth it!

I hope this inspired you to make something beautiful for your home for the holidays.  My decorating will probably be fairly minimal this year.  I still have another big craft show in December and will also be out of town some in December….so not much time for decorating!

I do love my deer heads and I just have to share this guy decorated up for the holidays:

No Peeking Card 004

Time for Christmas!  I really, really love Stampin’ Up’s Pop & Place Christmas Tag & Stamp Bundle.  The stamp set is soooo darn cute!  It’s a photopolymer set and comes with lots of perfect images for Christmas tags and I know I will get tons of use out of it this season.  I thought though, this set offers lots more versatility than just tags and I had to use it for a card!

No Peeking Card 005

I also used the Season of Style paper stack for the DSP elements and the yummy Cherry Cobbler 1″ Stitched Edge Grosgrain Ribbon.  The only fancy technique I used was to Gold Emboss the Designer Very Vintage Button.  I love how this looks and I seem to do it a lot!

I hope you are getting into the holiday swing and crafting lots of beautiful holiday goodies….I know I have been spending a lot of time making pretty things for craft shows and the upcoming holidays.

I also hope you are enjoying our creative inspiration as much as I am!  I continue to be awed by the skill and creativity of my fellow friends on this hop!  Be sure to come back every other Monday to see what we have up our sleeves for you!

I know it’s time to start crafting Thanksgiving and Christmas projects and I have already created a few of those type of projects but I couldn’t resist one more vintage-y unseasonal card.  I figured a thank you card fit right in with November and Thanksgiving 🙂

This card features many things I love, love, love!  Doilies (check), gold embossing (check), vintage buttons (check), a sparkly butterfly with pearls (check) and the Off the Grid stamp which seems like it might be out of place on this card but adds just the right touch!  I actually found the bones of this card on Pinterest and I will have to find it again so I can give credit where credit is due.  I’ll update this post as soon as I figure that out!  I changed it up quite a bit and I love the final result.  I hope this inspires you to make something gorgeous of your own!

“Undefined”…I have to admit when they launched this new line at convention this summer I just didn’t get it.  I thought the completed stamps looked a little kindergarten-y and the whole idea didn’t speak to me creatively.  But….I decided to order the kit and give it a whirl.  I really wanted my very own “glamper” stamp so that is what I made!  I have to admit, it was really fun!  and I love, love the way my stamp came out!  I gave it the Shasta wing and made it look as vintage-y trailer as I could!

Now that I had the glamper, what better colors to use than Tempting Turquoise and Real Red?  Perfect!  I used the World Map background stamp and stamped it in full strength Tempting Turquoise on a piece of cardstock cut to fit exactly on the right side of the swing card.  On top of the World Map image, I stamped “Off the Grid” in Whisper White.  Another little trick I did was to use the Chevron Punch on a 1 1/4″ strip of Real Red card stock.  I trimmed the front end to match the “V” and I trimmed the back end to fit into the fold of the card.  Then I lined up the punched out chevrons to match the strip on the top of the fold.  The last little old school technique I used was to mask the trailer and then stamp the “tire tread” image from Gorgeous Grunge under my little trailer.  After I added my tire tread, I stamped one of the Gorgeous Grunge splatters on top of the glamper image with Illuminate Ink.  I think I put Illuminate splatter on almost every card I make these days!

The whole card is full of symbolism to just hit the road and “get out there”!  I can’t wait to have my own little glamper to do just that in!  My bestie SIL just got a cute little glamper last weekend and her stove is turquoise.  I think I will send this glamper card to her to celebrate her new little home on wheels!

I’m so glad you are back to enjoy our creative inspiration!  I continue to be awed by the skill and creativity of my fellow friends on this hop!  Be sure to come back every other Monday to see what we have up our sleeves for you!

Monday Montage Blog Hop – Week 3

I have had this idea in my brain ever since I saw the Perfect Blend set in the catalog! Combined with Gorgeous Grunge I think I have created the perfect blend between two of my faves: coffee & grunge! Enough with the weird puns … let’s talk about my card 🙂

Pretty simple really, I used Baked Brown Sugar cardstock and ink and Whisper White card stock. I stamped the coffee cup in Baked Brown Sugar ink on Whisper White cardstock and then cut it out. After I cut the coffee cup out, I cut a slit in the “lid” and pushed a Starbucks stopper in. I hot glued the stopper to the back of the cup and had to cut off the bottom of the stopper with wire cutters. The stopper is a little too big for cup but I think it looks super cute! Garden Green ink matches the Starbucks stopper exactly and I used that for the sentiment. The stopper and the hot glue behind the cup give the whole card a lot of dimension, that cup just pops right off the front of the card!

The rest is the big splatter from Gorgeous Grunge in Baked Brown Sugar added full strength and stamped off to the base and some embellishments.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today! It’s been a rough week at work this week and coffee is just about the only thing that has gotten me through it; so it is really fitting that today’s creation features coffee!

I’m so glad you are back for week 3 of our Monday Montage! The last two weeks have been filled with amazing and beautiful creations! So don’t forget to come back every other Monday for another big dose of creative inspiration!
